How much does air conditioning installation cost in Luxembourg?
A single split installed costs roughly €1,800 to €3,900 including materials, fitting and commissioning, depending on brand and capacity. A multi-split covering 2 to 4 rooms runs from €3,500 to €9,500. Our annual single-split maintenance contract starts at €219 incl. 17% VAT; multi-unit contracts are priced by configuration. The survey and the quote are free.
Do I get the reduced 3% VAT rate?
Yes, if the property is your main residence and older than two years. We check eligibility during the survey and file the application with the AED on your behalf, so the reduced rate appears directly on your invoice.
Does the Klimabonus cover air conditioning?
No. The Klimabonus applies to air-to-water, water-to-water and ground-source heat pumps connected to central heating, not to standard air-to-air air conditioning. The 3% VAT rate on installation still applies where you qualify.
Are you a certified Daikin installer?
Yes — official Daikin partner in Luxembourg, with full manufacturer warranty plus our own 2-year warranty on the installation. We also fit and service Mitsubishi, Toshiba, LG, Samsung and Panasonic.
How long does an installation take?
One working day for a single split, one to two days for a multi-split, two to three days for a ducted system. Lead time is 5 to 10 days outside the season and 10 to 20 days during a heatwave.
Can I install AC in a rented flat or an apartment block?
In most cases yes. The outdoor unit goes on a balcony, façade or roof terrace, and the co-ownership normally needs to approve it. We prepare the file for the syndic: placement photo, technical sheet and sound level.
How much electricity does an air conditioner use?
A modern R32 inverter unit draws 0.5 to 1.5 kWh to cool a room — about 15 to 45 cents an hour at Luxembourg rates. In heating mode the COP reaches 4 to 5, so 1 kWh of electricity gives 4 to 5 kWh of heat.
Is annual servicing really required?
For systems holding more than 2 kg of refrigerant, an annual inspection by a certified technician is required under the EU F-Gas regulation. Beyond the legal side, servicing keeps efficiency up and avoids around 30% of wasted energy.
